DK Yarn

DK yarn (or Double Knitting wool) is possibly the most common and default weight for knitting and crochet. It is highly versatile and suitable for any kind of project…and the range of choice is HUGE! You can pretty much get any color, effect, yarn structure, and fiber content in DK. Sometimes described as Light Worsted, DK yarn is heavier than Sport Weight, but not as thick as Worsted.

This yarn weight also offers a wide range of color options. From solid shades to variegated and self-striping options, you'll find a vast array of choices to suit your creative vision. It is recommended that DK yarn be knitted or crocheted on US 6 needles and hooks, of which you’ll find a superb range of in our collection of knitting needles and hooks. But don’t forget to check needle recommendations on your chosen pattern as different stitches, garment styles and fabric densities will call for different sizes!
